The summer is often a quiet time for new releases. With GTA 6’s price being confirmed and pre-orders beginning, it seems like the release date for Rockstar’s huge game is locked in. Therefore, other publishers are racing to get their game in players’ hands before then, with this September shaping up to be one of the busiest of all time. This July, however, the sun is far from setting on new releases – from remakes giving beloved classics like Assassin’s Creed and Halo a new lease of life, to the highly anticipated 1.0 release of Palworld and the brand new Moss: The Forgotten Relic.
Arguably, the biggest of the lot is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. First released in October 2013, Black Flag has become a fan favorite and is considered by many to be the best Assassin’s Creed game of all time. This remake has been rebuilt from the ground up in the Anvil engine that was used for the gorgeous Assassin’s Creed Shadows. As a result, what was already a vibrant game has become more colorful and beautiful than ever. The shimmering blue seas, the sandy beaches, and dense island forests all pop like never before, making the adventure feel like a jaunt around paradise. That is, until you get into brutal ship combat, anyway.
Maybe the most exciting aspect of Black Flag Resynced is how much new content has been added. Ubisoft boasts that it’s added more than six hours of new stuff to play, from Blackbeard quests to the recruitment of three new ship captains. By removing the always distracting real-world segments, Black Flag Resynced is able to focus on Kenway’s pirate story.
We got our hands on the game a few months before launch. In his preview, Tom wrote: “With a story that’s full of fun personalities, an impressive suite of new content, and some of the most vibrant visuals I’ve ever seen, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a brilliant update to one of the series’ most iconic games.”
The other big remake coming out in July 2026 is Halo: Campaign Evolved. In our heads, the original Halo still looks great, but if you put it side by side with the newest version, the difference is night and day.
Yes, Campaign Evolved is missing the multiplayer that introduced so many players to online gaming, but don’t let that dampen your excitement – this is still a rare chance to return to one of the most iconic first-person shooter campaigns ever made. The nostalgia is going to hit hard the moment you pick up that original Needler again. Much like Black Flag Resynced, Campaign Evolved features a handful of new missions, and it’ll be interesting to see how they are woven into the story. The original campaign tells a pretty tight and fast-paced story, so it’ll be important that the new content doesn’t get in the way of what made Combat Evolved great.

The final major release coming in July is the long-awaited 1.0 release of Palworld. The creature-catching survival game took the world by storm when it launched in early access at the start of 2024. It may have been rough around the edges in places, but its irresistible blend of mechanics created something that players couldn’t put down.
Now, the full, final release of the game is here. The latest version introduces a suite of changes, many of which go beyond simple bug fixes and improvements. 1.0 adds the World Tree endgame zone, Sky Islands for you to explore, over 25 new Pals to add to your team, a PvP mode to test your skills in, and even a breeding system that’ll let you attempt to make the best version of your favorite Pals.
The amount of new content makes it the perfect time to return to Palworld, whether you drafted away after launch or never quite found the right moment to jump in. Players who fell in love with it back in January 2024 will find plenty of reasons to make their comeback, and with so much new content to discover, the 1.0 release feels like the definitive reason to see what Palworld has truly become
I also couldn’t cover July 2026’s new releases without mentioning Moss: The Forgotten Relic. It reimagines the excellent VR platformer as an experience that has no need for a headset. How the gameplay will stand up without the virtual reality quirks remains to be seen, but the Moss games are wonderfully whimsical and endearing, and there’s no doubt that’ll translate to standard systems, too.
Whether you’re returning to Palworld or looking forward to the upgraded version of hugely popular games from earlier in the 21st century, July 2026 is an exciting month for games. All three of the highlights are available on G2A.COM, so be sure to pick them up there.
