It’s hard to overstate just how big Palworld has become. It might have once been laughingly viewed as a clone of a certain other videogame series, but it has undoubtedly become its own thing.

According to new estimates from Alinea Analytics, Pocketpair’s survival smash has now sold roughly 30.5 million copies across Steam, PlayStation and Xbox following the launch of its long-awaited 1.0 update. The firm also estimates the game has generated around $700 million in gross software revenue, cementing its place as one of the most successful new gaming IPs in recent years.

As always, though, it’s worth taking third-party estimates like these with a grain of salt. Alinea has built a strong reputation for games market analysis, but neither Pocketpair nor the platform holders have officially confirmed these latest sales figures.

According to the report, Steam remains Palworld’s dominant platform by a huge margin, accounting for an estimated 27.1 million of those sales. The recent 1.0 launch, combined with the game’s biggest discount to date, reportedly helped drive another 1.5 million Steam sales, alongside approximately 300,000 copies on PlayStation and just under 70,000 on Xbox since the update launched.

The 1.0 update appears to have reignited interest in lapsed players, too. On SteamDB the game has been hitting a daily peak player count of just over 20,000, and that slowly started climbing toward the launch of 1.0. And then on July 1st, it went from 56,000 concurrent players to 855,000 just a few days later. It peaked again on July 19, hitting just over 961,000.

Not bad for a Pokemon knockoff, huh?
