A familiar feature within the genre, Moonlight Peaks Dating works a little differently, as dates are a bit more involved than what you may initially expect. Romance is completely optional in Moonlight Peaks, so if you’re not interested in this part of the game, that’s perfectly fine; it doesn’t have any major effects on the gameplay.

If you like a bit of romance in your video games, check out my guides on Sun Haven Romance and Starsand Island Bachelors.

There are so many good options. Hands off Evan, though; they’re mine.

    Who Can You Date?

Okay, the important question needs to be answered first and foremost. Which characters can we romance? To be honest, we’re spoilt for choice, with 23 options ranging from vampires to witches, and werewolves to mermaids. Oh, how I love supernatural media.

The characters you can date are:

    • Saga [Werewolf]
    • Ridge [Werewolf]
    • Ludo [Werewolf]
    • Orlock [Vampire]
    • Samael [Vampire]
    • Evan [Vampire]
    • Elvira [Vampire]
    • Mina [Vampire]
    • Death [Literally death himself]
    • Luna [Witch]
    • Fiona [Witch]
    • Noel [Witch]
    • Sabrina [Witch]
    • Kim [Mermaid]
    • Rei [Mermaid]
    • Tae [Mermaid]
    • Persephone [Human]
    • Jada [Human]
    • Winston [Human]
    • Dragan [Seer]
    • Alina [Seer]
    • Aras [Seer]
    • Llemi [Love Demon]

How to Date in Moonlight Peaks

To initiate romance, you need to raise your affinity with the character of your choice. This involves talking to them every day and giving them gifts. Bonus points if you manage to give them one of their favourite items as a gift.

Unlike similar games, dating in Moonlight Peaks isn’t just a cute cutscene. Instead, you’re put to work, where you need to complete short minigames such as making a bouquet that suits the tastes of your romance option. Failing in the minigame results in losing points.

After one date, you can officially start ‘dating’ the character. However, don’t be surprised if your love interest also tries to initiate future dates, too. It’s pretty wholesome.

    How Dating Works

Once you’re both officially an item, which involves reaching 4 hearts, you can now give each other a little smooch and ask each other on dates. At 8 hearts, completing a date grants you the option to propose, leading to a charmingly supernatural wedding.

To keep the relationship going strong, make sure to stick with the daily affection tasks like speaking with them and giving them gifts. Each character has gifts they love, like, and hate. Of course, you’ll be focusing on gifts that they either like or love. Try to avoid gifts they hate at all costs.

    Who Am I Picking?

If you’re curious, then I’ll let you know who I’m choosing, or who I’m torn between. But also, this is an excuse for me to be self-indulgent.

Torn is a strong word, because while some characters tempt me, there’s one in particular that I’m beelining for. And that is Evan. Sigh, the dreamy emo vampire. They’ve got fangs, a neck tattoo and a septum piercing. Nice.

They’re related to Mina, another vampire romance option, and while she’s cute, she’s a bit too bubbly for me. I adore her character design though, especially her hair and accessories.

Now, while I’ve made it clear who I’m planning on romancing, I should also mention who else I’m tempted by. Perhaps I’ll make multiple playthroughs to experience all of their love stories. The runner-ups, for me, are:

    • Sabrina the Witch
    • Saga the Werewolf
