Developed by KLab, My Hero Academia: UNITED SURVIVAL is a roguelite action game based on the popular My Hero Academia series, bringing together a roster of heroes and villains as you build your own three-character squad. The game lets you unleash powerful Quirks, defeat waves of enemies, and create different combinations through its run-based progression system. In this guide, I will give you all the directions and essential guidance on how to use the skills and which skills work best with which.

Mastering Your Quirk: The Core Mechanics
In UNITED SURVIVAL, your chosen hero (or character build) is the single most important decision. While your primary Quirk defines your core playstyle, be it frontline tanking, long-range bombardment, or support, your “Survival Skills” act as the backbone of your gameplay loop. Do note that they are the ultimate’s of the character. Very essential and useful to clear bosses.

All the different classes and their quirks
1. The Tank (Frontline Defense)
Heroes like Kirishima or Tetsutetsu specialize in raw durability. Your goal is to draw aggro and mitigate incoming damage. Focus on “Hardening” skills that grant damage reduction. Always prioritize gear that boosts physical defense. Use shouts or taunt abilities to keep pressure off your more fragile teammates. Make sure your main loot power-ups are always focused on the Tank quirk so your main hero survives the onslaught waves.
2. The Artillery (Long-Range DPS)
Characters like Bakugo or Todoroki rely on high-output damage from a distance. Managing your energy/Quirk gauge is critical. If you burn through your strongest attacks too quickly, you become a sitting duck. Prioritize positioning. Use mobility skills (like explosion-powered leaps or ice-slides) to maintain distance. Never let an enemy get within melee range. Make sure your main loot power-ups are always focused on increasing your attacks and speed so your DPS can clear the field easily.

3. The Support (Team Utility)
Heroes like Recovery Girl (or support-focused students) keep the team in the fight. You are the team’s lifeline. Your survival is more important than your damage output. Stay in the backline. Use “Flash” or “Shield” utility skills to escape if an assassin-type villain targets you. Make sure your main loot power-ups are always focused on Skill reset and Power-Utils so your skills aoe can level the playing field to even the odds of the mobs surrounding you.
Crucial Survival Tips and Tricks for New Players
- It is tempting to chase a kill, but in UNITED SURVIVAL, getting caught in an enemy’s ultimate ability usually means death. Know your exit strategy. I have gotten killed by this a lot of times.
- Every character has a gauge (Energy, Stamina, or Quirk-Charge). Learn to cycle your abilities so you are never caught with your main skills on cooldown.
- Pair up! If you are playing a heavy-hitting DPS, find a partner who provides CC (Crowd Control) or healing. A solo hero is a vulnerable hero.
- When leveling up, always look for passives that increase your survivability. A 5% increase in max HP or a reduction in movement speed debuffs can be the difference between life and death.

Confused about what hero to choose?
If you are starting, don’t worry about picking the “perfect” meta hero immediately. Experiment with the different Quirk types to see which playstyle fits your instincts. For Beginners: Stick to Tank or Ranged DPS heroes. They offer the most forgiving learning curves. For Advanced Players: Support and specialized Assassin-types provide more depth and rewarding gameplay once you understand the game’s movement systems.
Ultimately, your survival in My Hero Academia: UNITED SURVIVAL comes down to knowing when to fight and when to retreat. Master your Quirk, protect your teammates, and make every move count. If you don’t understand what to do where, learn by doing and keep trial-and-erroring your methods. Retry the same level with a different hero to get around the hard progress blocks.
