Death Stranding 2 for PC finally has a confirmed release date. Sony has announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on PC on March 19, bringing the sequel to a broader audience after its initial console debut. The PC edition is being developed in partnership with Nixxes Software, the Netherlands-based studio Sony acquired in 2021 to strengthen its PC porting efforts.

Developed by Kojima Productions, Death Stranding 2 continues the story nearly a year after the original game. Players once again control Sam Porter Bridges as he travels across a fractured landscape, this time set in Australia. The central structure remains intact: reconnecting isolated communities by expanding the chiral network while navigating hostile terrain and otherworldly threats. As with the first title, traversal, resource management, and asynchronous multiplayer systems play a major role in shaping the experience.

On PC, Death Stranding 2 will support several hardware-focused enhancements. Sony confirmed compatibility with upscaling and frame generation technologies from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. The game will feature uncapped frame rates and support full 4K resolution, depending on system specifications. Ultrawide monitor support is included, with compatibility for 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios. For audio, the PC version supports 3D sound through Dolby Access, DTS Sound Unbound, and Windows Sonic for headphones.

Input options are flexible, allowing players to use mouse and keyboard or a DualSense controller. Sony’s recent PC releases have generally maintained strong controller integration, and Death Stranding 2 appears to follow that pattern.

Alongside the PC release, Sony has confirmed that new modes and features will arrive simultaneously for both PC and PS5 players. While specifics have not yet been detailed, the additions are described as offering new challenges and rewards. The original Death Stranding later received expanded content through a Director’s Cut edition, which added missions, tools, and traversal options. The new update for On the Beach may follow a similar approach, extending replay value rather than fundamentally altering the core gameplay loop.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is currently available for pre-purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store at $70 for the standard edition. A Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $80, includes additional in-game items. As with many recent AAA PC launches, pricing aligns with current industry norms rather than undercutting the console version.

The PC release of Death Stranding 2 reflects Sony’s continued strategy of expanding first-party titles beyond PlayStation hardware. With technical upgrades, ultrawide support, and new modes at launch, the PC edition aims to deliver feature parity while taking advantage of scalable hardware. Whether the additional modes significantly reshape the experience remains to be seen, but for players waiting on a PC release, the timeline is now clear.
