Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege is a badass looking retro game developed by Lillymo Games (Tri Breaker, Super Perils of Baking, Habroxia 2) and written by former IGN journalist turned podcaster Colin Moriarty.

“Saint Slayer is an NES-style 2D action game, featuring loads of stages, enemies, and gore set against the backdrop of late-17th century Europe. Play as the ex-soldier Rudiger and wield the Spear of Sacrilege as you save the Holy Roman Empire from the corrupt Catholic priest Father Pacer,” says the blurb.

I admit to being biased here: I listen to Sacred Symbols, the podcast of Colin Moriarty, so I’ve been looking forward to trying out Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege since it was announced.

So, when can we get our grubby little mitts on it? April 20, for Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4, PS5, Switch, Switch 2 and PC.
