Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026
April 2026 is another month of really exciting video game releases. These articles are getting trickier to write as major titles are being announced close to their release dates. Such is the case with both our runners-up. Bethesda’s sci-fi CRPG Starfield is leaving Xbox exclusivity and coming out for the PS5. Action Roguelite Hades II is also leaving Nintendo console exclusivity, and coming out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Both these games would be easy #1 contenders if they weren’t already out for some platforms. Without further ado, here are the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026:
5. Invincible VS – April 30
The Invincible comic book and animated series is one of the most popular post-modern superhero properties on the planet right now. It’s exciting for fans that there’s finally going to be an Invincible video game. Invincible VS is a 3 vs. 3 tag fight game. There will be eighteen playable characters available upon launch, with another four planned as DLC. Strangely, there hasn’t been a ton of hype for the game, so it lands at the bottom of the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026. Invincible VS will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
4. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction – April 28
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is a gorgeous 2D beat ‘em up that perfectly emulates the visual style of the classic 80s cartoon series. It’s being developed by Bitmap Bureau, who are mostly famous for the twin stick shooter Xeno Crisis, and recent 2D shooter Terminator 2D: No Fate. They also developed a very underrated beat ‘em up called Final Vendetta. Hopefully He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will bring their catalogue to a larger audience. I’m so happy beat ‘em ups are rising in popularity enough to be included in articles like the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026. The game will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 1, and PC.
3. Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Expansion – April 28
Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is a massive expansion to the humungous CRPG Diablo IV. The story is about the player trying to stop one of the three Lords of Hell, Mephisto. It promises to bring two new classes, paladin and warlock, to the game. Normally we don’t include expansions or DLC on lists like the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026, but this one is so high profile, it demanded inclusion. Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred will be available for both PlayStations, Xbox Series X/S and One, and PC.
2. Pragmata – April 17
Pragmata is a completely new third person shooter IP from Capcom. It’s a sci-fi story about a mysterious young girl riding on the back of the player character. The game has a unique mechanic where the player has to complete hacking minigames while firing shots. It’s a fantastic gameplay twist that makes Pragmata feel wholly unique. Capcom is killing it right now, and high-profile games by them are always going to be top spot contenders on lists like the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026. Pragmata will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
1. Saros – April 30
Saros is the brand new game from Housemarque, developers of Returnal. Returnal was one of the PS5’s early exclusives. Like Returnal, Saros is a narrative-driven Roguelike third person shooter. Sony is throwing its entire marketing machine behind the game, hoping it will be a massive hit. The dev’s track record is strong, and the game looks stunning, making it the top game in the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games April 2026. Saros will be a PS5 exclusive.
