PC gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck and the Asus ROG Ally have proven to be great way to play games on the go, but there is a bit of a downside to it. That’s all they do. They play games. For many folks, that’s enough, but for many others, we want to be able to minimize the number of devices we need to take with us when we leave the house. That’s why there is still very much a place for gaming laptops in this market. Plus, you don’t have to pay exorbitant prices to get a solid piece of hardware. Take a look at the ASUS TUF Gaming F16. This 2025 gaming laptop normally sells for $1,300, but right now, Amazon happens to have it on sale for 31% off. That ends up taking a good $400 off the price, leaving you only having to pay $900.

Diving into the specs, this Asus gaming laptop is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor 13450HX in unison with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card. For visuals, it’s working with a 165Hz display which will be able to handle 120fps frame rates. It even utilizes an adaptive-sync technology which can help reduce lag, stuttering, and screen tearing to keep your games looking smooth. The screen measures in at 16 inches and can display in FHD+ resolution with its 16:10 aspect ratio.

Battery life is pretty reliable with the laptop’s 90Whr battery. It can recharge over its 100W USB-C port and it charges pretty quickly too. It’s can reach 50% of it’s max level in just 30 minutes.

Cooling is handled efficiently with the help of the second generation Gen Arc Flo fans. They utilizes full-width heatsink with a full-width vent so it’s able to dissipate heat quickly without making much noise.

    Accented Design

A welcomed little flourish in the laptop’s design comes to the keyboard. The whole unit is matte black with little golden accents. Four keys specifically have been gilded to standout among the rest. These as the W, A, S, and D keys which any gamer knows are frequently used for movement of your player character in a variety of titles across genres.

The laptop is built to be durable, which is great because you’d probably plan of taking it out of the house every now and then. It’s been rigorously tested to meet Military Grade standards so you know it will be able to operate at peak performance in harsh conditions.
