With the release of the movie, a lot of things have gone a little bit Backrooms, and Scary Shwarma Kiosk: The Anomaly is no exception. This new limited event is a little tricky to find, and needs a bit of lateral thinking to escape from, so I put together this guide on how to reach The Backrooms in Scary Shawarma Kiosk The Anomaly. Fortunately, I’m also covering how to get out again. I’m not that mean.
How To Reach The Backrooms In Scary Shawarma Kiosk The Anomaly (And Escape)
What Is The Backrooms?
The Scary Shawarma Kiosk Backrooms event is a limited time event that started on June 5th and last up until June 15th, that creates a new area in-game to explore. It’s inspired by the internet liminal space horror, and by the new Backrooms movie, so fans of either will see a few similarities. The actual Backrooms itself is more of an exploration section, we haven’t found anything straight-up dangerous there, but you’ll need to solve a puzzle if you want to leave.
How To Reach The Backrooms
To reach The Backrooms, you’ll need to wait for a particular customer to call at the kiosk. He’s a pretty unassuming guy with dark hair and a beard, and doesn’t have any anomalous features. The most unique thing about him is that he appears to be carrying a flashlight. You’ll also see him walking out from behind the bus shelter, rather than along the street like most customers.
Once you see him, serve him as normal. He’ll start talking about the strange place he found behind the bus shelter, and how he wants to show someone. This is the important bit. You need to leave the kiosk and follow him. He’ll lead you across the street to the back of the bus shelter, where you can find a doorway made of blue tape on the wall. You can actually find look and see this at any time during your run, but it’s only active after serving the particular customer.
He’ll wait outside, you just head straight through.
The Backrooms changes around as you move. If you reach a dead end, you may turn around to find the route you can has changed. (You should try this is you get stuck at any point.)
How To Leave The Backrooms
Now here’s the tricky part. Once you get in, you might find it hard to get out. Fortunately, you should be able to solve this in the way you solve most problems in this game… through shawarma. Follow the halls until you find a long corridor that leads to a wrecked car. Next to the car, you should see a shawarma stand, much like your own. This is the key to your escape. Once you find it, you need to do the following steps.
- Interact with the lavash bread on the counter, and place it on the assembly board.
- The cheese is in a tray at in the trunk of the wrecked car near the shawarma stand.
- To find the sauce, head back down the dark hallway you entered with and turn right. Then turn around, you should see a hallway with a plastic chair inside. Go in and make a loop around the wall in the room next to it, until you hear a click. You should see a human figure sitting in the chair. Approach it and it will run away, leaving the sauce tray.
- To find the salad, head back down the hallway you can down and look to your left in the room full of pillars, a refrigerator is against one of the pillars.
Open it to find the salad tray. - Move to the doorway behind the refrigerator and you’ll see a cylinder of shawarma meat sticking out of the wall, interact with it to get the meat.
- Return to the Backrooms shawarma kiosk and interact with the assembled shawarma to wrap it. Then interact again to give it to… The Backrooms? I’m pretty The Backrooms eats the shawarma.
- Head back on the route past the wall-meat and follow the path around, you should be free to leave through the blue tape door.
