A highly anticipated 2026 PS5 RPG is shaping up to be a Game of the Year contender, if early hands-on gameplay impressions are anything to go by. The Blood of Dawnwalker is brought to us by Rebel Wolves, comprised of former CD Projekt RED veterans. It’s no surprise, then, that it’s drawing comparisons to The Witcher.

The Blood of Dawnwalker already looked promising from what we’ve been shown thus far. After all, it’s being developed by some of the folks behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. But it’s the latest hands-on previews that truly suggest that Dawnwalker is shaping up to be something very special.
“The Blood of Dawnwalker seems like it offers a ridiculous amount of flexibility in how you can play it and how its story can shake out,” says GameSpot. The official Xbox News site showered the game with praise for its “high level of narrative execution.”
