How to revive cats in Mewgenics
Source: Edmund McMillen
In Mewgenics, when a cat runs out of health, it will, for the most part, be downed. This can sometimes change if you are carrying specific items like the Throbbing Gristle or Putrid Leech, but for the most part, you will have a chance to get down cats back on their feet.
Your most likely source of a revive for a downed cat is from a revive ability. There are a number of these in the game.
Ability
Effect
CPR (Collarless)
Revive an adjacent body to 1 HP.
Deathrpoof (Collarless Passive)
While downed, you have a 25% chance to revive with 1 health at the end of each round.
Awaken (Cleric)
Revive a body to 1 HP.
Born Again (Cleric)
Revive a body to 100% health and give it All Stats Up, then you fall asleep.
Revive (Cleric)
This cat revives a body to 50% HP. An injury is restored if it’s a cat.
Breath of Life (Cleric)
When you use a heal on a downed unit, revive it. (This requires a healing spell to work off)
Eternal (Cleric)
When you are downed for the first time in each battle, take no injuries and revive with half health.
Lifedrain (Necromancer)
Drain 2 health at melee range. Can be cast while downed, if it kills a unit, revive with 50% health.
It’s Alive! (Tinkerer)
Hitting a body with electrical damage revives it with 1 health. The revived corpse is charmed, takes an extra turn, and will then die.
Reset (Psychic)
Revive all bodies, heal all units, and clear all active status effects. This may only be cast once per battle.
Deep Dive (Monk)
Become downed, but do not become injured. At the end of the next round, you will revive with 1HP, 15 Shield, and All Stats Up.
The easiest way to do this is to win whatever round of combat you are in. All cats receive a burst of healing at the end of combat, based on their Constitution stat. This will be enough to get your cat back up, and you can then figure out ways to heal it, like self-healing abilities, or perhaps intervention from a member of your squad that has some Cleric spells.
You can also find a range of items as you play through the game, many of which will potentially revive your cats if they are equipped with them.
