The Indian Super Gaming League (ISGL) is set to debut in 2026, bringing India its first “franchise-based youth performance league where esports meets culture, creators, music, and live energy”. Founded by Santanu Basu and Gautam Badalia, ISGL will feature Chess, FC 26, Call of Duty Mobile, FAU-G, and Cricket 26.
The curtain raiser event took place on March 1, 2026, in Mumbai, India. It was an invite-only experience, which saw the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Tanmay Bhat, Scout, and others in attendance. The occasion marked a blend of gamers, sports players, content creators, and entertainment personalities. They discussed the importance of esports and video games, the budding talent in the country, and ISGL’s goal in nurturing and showcasing it.

Taking place between March and June 2026, ISGL describes itself as a “structured, merit-driven league ecosystem” that differentiates itself from “one-off tournaments or digital-only competitions”. Boasting eight franchises, it will host league matches across multiple esports games that lead to a live national finale. Viewers will also be treated to exhibition matches “featuring creators, celebrities, and professional athletes”.
