The strike has been organized in collaboration with the Coordinadora Sindical del Videojuego (CSVI) union.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The strike was announced via CSVI\u2019s social media channels. It began today and will run through the week. The strike comes in response to employees of Ubisoft Barcelona being laid off almost immediately following Black Flag Resynced\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Las trabajadoras de Ubisoft han hablado y convocal a un paro total para reivindicar sus derechos.<br \/>\u00a1Basta ya de recortes injustificados! \u00a1No al ERE de Ubisoft Barcelona!#ubisoft #ere #layoffs #gamedev <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Jpbk7Q4HgO\">pic.twitter.com\/Jpbk7Q4HgO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\u2014 CSVI (@CSVI_CGT) July 14, 2026&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The striking developers and the CSVI have made the following demands of Ubisoft:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<ul>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>The cancellation of the proposed 51 layoffs.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Stronger job security guarantees to prevent mass layoffs happening in the future.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>The return of the studio\u2019s previous remote working policy, which allowed up to 60% remote working.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li>Promotions and salary increases that they say were previously promised.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Ubisoft has been in a rough place and only getting rougher with the exception of projects like Assassin\u2019s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Rayman Legends Retold in play. The group has been struggling to reorganize and operate in a sustainable fashion, closing studios and canceling long-awaited projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Even so, Black Flag Resynced should have been a high point for the company after having sold over 2 million copies in its first day of release. Ubisoft Barcelona\u2019s employees are loudly demanding better treatment for their part in making that happen.
