In addition to current product announcements, including Daggerheart’s Hope and Fear expansion (on sale now at Gen Con, and available August 25 at retailers), the future of Daggerheart looks bright with two major tentpole releases per year, a commitment to both free and paid digital products, and even content from other companies supporting the game. Here’s what fans have to look forward to in Daggerheart.

There are three more physical Daggerheart products still due out this year: a GM screen full of artwork and at-your-fingertips references, a Fear tracker so your players can see exactly how bad things are getting at any given moment, and an Adversary Deck full of enemy stat blocks so that GMs can play with cards, too. The Fear tracker is especially interesting; it’s definitely a tension-maker as seen on Critical Role’s Age of Umbra series, and it’s valuable information for players to have at the ready. That’s on top of the Hope and Fear expansion and the Class Packs that launched this year. Daggerheart is also being translated to a multitude of new languages, including Simplified Chinese, Hungarian, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, German, and Spanish, though no word yet on when those will be released.

On the digital front, Daggerheart announced expansion to new virtual tabletops: while it’s been on Demiplane from the beginning (and is getting Hope & Fear support in August), Foundry VTT is also joining as an official digital partner for Daggerheart, and Alchemy VTT is getting Hope & Fear support as well. We also finally have a release date for the With Love and Magic romantasy campaign frame (teased last Gen Con), which is due out this fall as a standalone digital-only product. In addition to paid content, there will also be a free Digital Adventure Pipeline starting in August on Daggerheart’s website, which we’re guessing will along the lines of The Wish Thief one-shot adventure the team released with the game’s first anniversary. One of these upcoming adventures will be based around Darrington’s game A Familiar Find, in which you play a familiar rather than the typical hero — the Daggerheart adventure version was described as “Carmen Sandiego played by the cast of Homeward Bound and Carmen is a witch.”

But what about those two books per year that Darrington Press promised us? So far we’ve seen two Daggerheart rulebooks, but in the future we can expect setting books, campaign books, adventure books, and more. Rowan Hall is working on Daggerheart’s first official setting book, which will take us to “a place that embraces all the wonder, hope, and danger of Daggerheart.” Spenser Starke also says it’s in a world we might recognize, but only offered these hints to which world that might be: “anything can be a kaiju if you squint and we’re spellchecking archipelago at least 20 times a day.” There’s no release date for this (or any other) book, but if the team is serious about getting out two major books a year, we’re likely to see it in 2027.

Jeremy Crawford is working on another new setting book, described as “devilishly spooky,” which will include content currently in playtesting (and some things we’re already seeing in Critical Role’s Age of Umbra: Shallowlands game). Plus there will be an anthology of adventures helmed by Chris Perkins, with hints that the tone and content will be all over the map, though no specific details were given about the adventures.

Coming soon, Role & Play Press is bringing out a Daggerheart version of its One-Shot Wonders series: One-Shot Wonders: Daggerheart will bring 100 new adventures based across all of the campaign frames in both the Core Set and Hope & Fear! The book launches on Kickstarter this fall and you can download a preview PDF now if you follow the campaign. Coming not so soon, there are also Daggerheart plushies coming from YouTooz, although we don’t have a release date for those; the most important, of course, being Jennifer English’s Age of Umbra adorably derpy bat animal companion, Badger.

And for those making their own Daggerheart content or playing using the system reference document, the Daggerheart SRD is also getting two major additions soon: first, Hope & Fear will be coming to the SRD. (It makes sense: this book is essentially an expansion of the Core Set featuring stuff that didn’t necessarily fit into the Core Set, so it’s perfect to add to the SRD.) Secondly, special mechanics from the campaign frames are coming to the SRD; like the Ikonis weapon crafting system from the Motherboard frame or the Colossus mechanics from Colossus of the Drylands. This means those elements will be able to be picked up and brewed for other content, as well!

There’s a lot coming to Daggerheart, and these sparse details may only be the tip of the iceberg. We’ll let you know when we know more about any of these upcoming projects.

At the Daggerheart Next panel at Gen Con 2026, Darrington Press laid out a three year roadmap for their fantasy tabletop RPG, and for fans of this system, it’s packed with new game content.
