Update [Sun 9th Aug 2026, 3pm]:<\/strong> Following a release date earlier this week, there are new reports of users being invited to a Minecraft Beta<\/strong> for Switch 2.<\/p>\n Select players are apparently being invited to “test Minecraft on Nintendo Switch 2” when they boot up Minecraft. If you are selected, you’ll supposedly be prompted to navigate to the eShop and start the free download.<\/p>\n Here’s the invite message, and you can see footage of this version circulating on Reddit and social media.<\/p>\n “Minecraft’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and we need your help! See the improved performance and shape the final release. Interested? You can play right now!”<\/p>\n Once again, the Switch 2 version will officially launch on 27th October 2026<\/strong>. You can read the original story below.<\/p>\n Original Story:<\/strong> [Thu 6th Aug, 2026 00:05 BST]:<\/strong><\/p>\n If you’ve been eager to revisit the blocky world of Minecraft on Switch 2, Mojang has now confirmed this version will be arriving on 27th October 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Once again, the Switch 2 release will support the Vibrant Visuals graphics upgrade, which is set as the default visual experience. This means “enhanced lighting, shadow effects and more”.<\/p>\n The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, which is exclusive to Nintendo versions of Minecraft, is also getting an update to get the most out of the Vibrant Visuals upgrade.<\/p>\n You’ll also be able to carry over your save data from the Switch version of the game.
