However, an analyst has warned that the prices of these next-gen consoles could surge up to $999.<\/p>\n Rumors suggest the PS6 and next-gen Xbox will come with a heftier price tag. Console manufacturers signaled back in 2024 that tariffs would impact pricing. As predicted, the cost of DRAM and NAND has surged 80-90% since the start of 2026.<\/p>\n van Dreuen attributes this trend to AI data centers consuming significant hardware resources and distribution challenges in parts of Asia. The PS5 Pro\u2019s price tag of $900 is indicative of an emerging pattern. He believes that Sony has anticipated potential escalations and incorporated flexibility into its pricing strategy.<\/p>\n Dr. Serkan Toto, CEO of consultancy firm Kantan Games, believes Sony is opting for a single price hike in 2026, factoring in future fluctuations.
