The company notes that the anniversary day will fall on April 20, 2026, based on the game\u2019s inaugural release in Japan 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Not many details about the celebrations have been divulged in this announcement. Hideki Kamiya, the director and scenario writer for the first <em>Okami<\/em>, makes his return as the director for this new sequel. Capcom has still yet to announce a release window for the sequel, so it is yet to be known whether the new <em>Okami<\/em> game will be available within the anniversary year or not.<\/p>\n<p><em>Okami<\/em> first appeared in Japan for PlayStation 2 on April 20, 2006. Capcom later released Wii and PlayStation 3 versions of the game in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
