Free League announced an upcoming 10th Anniversary Kickstarter campaign for its dark fantasy RPG, Symbaroum<\/em>, with three new books and more.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It is hard to believe it\u2019s been a decade since Free League unleashed Symbaroum<\/em>, a dark fantasy RPG of exploring a gritty wilderness. If you want to get real technical, it\u2019s a decade since the English release; the RPG was first released in Swedish back in 2014. But that\u2019s neither here nor there. What is here is news of a 10th anniversary Kickstarter, celebrating the game with a new set of revised core rulebooks and a new campaign setting, coming next month.<\/p>\n Free League announced the new Kickstarter today, so details are still forthcoming about what exactly will be changed in the new edition of the books. All the release states is that the anniversary line includes revised versions of the core rules that are \u201cdesigned to make Symbaroum<\/em> even more accessible.\u201d<\/p>\n Presumably this means it\u2019s more of a revised edition than a full on new edition. Either way, after ten years, having some updates isn\u2019t a bad thing! Especially since alongside the updated core rules, there\u2019s a new campaign setting, the City States of Vendilyn.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cTen years after its international launch, the celebrated Symbaroum RPG is ready to shed its emerald-shimmering skin. While keeping to a standalone, all-in-one Core Rulebook, the content of the current four core books (Core Rules, Advanced Player\u2019s GUide, Game Master\u2019s Guide, and Monster Codex) will be rearranged into three volumes and gently revised, to smooth out the edges and make the material more user-friendly.<\/p>\n The Symbaroum Anniversary Kickstarter will be launched on May 19, 2026. The main attractions of the campaign are four hardcover volumes in English, richly illustrated by Martin Grip and Gustaf Ekelund. More information on featured items will be presented at the launch.\u201d<\/p>\n So if you\u2019ve been playing Symbaroum<\/em> or are curious, you might want to sign up to be notified when the anniversary project goes live on Kickstarter.
