Last week, it was announced that game developers would be getting more information on Xbox’s next-gen Project Helix console today, although it was heavily suggested at the time that it would just be a recap from GDC in March.<\/p>\n
It turns out that the Project Helix portion of the video is literally<\/em> the presentation from GDC itself, so there’s nothing major here that hasn’t been reported before, but it’s still an interesting watch if you’re interested in all-things Helix and Xbox’s overall next-gen plans. You can check it out up above \u2014 the presentation begins at 2:15 in the video.<\/p>\n Here’s an interesting quote we pulled out as well (just based on first glance… we’re going to need a lot longer to digest the full 90 minutes of this show!), with Xbox’s Jason Ronald highlighting the importance of console going forward:<\/p>\n “The console is absolutely core to Xbox, it is the heart of who we are, it will always be around, and it is critically important to our future.”<\/p>\n Ronald is aware of how much we all want brand-new<\/em> Project Helix information though, so he took to social media today to temper expectations about the Game Dev Update show, as well as promise more Helix news later in 2026:<\/p>\n For those who have asked, this is a recap of our announcements from GDC for those who weren’t able to make it.
