For Summer Game Fest 2026, show creator and host Geoff Keighley is trying to avoid a repeat of that situation.<\/p>\n On June 5, about an hour before the event was set to kick off, Keighley teased on Twitter that the final reveal of the event wouldn\u2019t be an online live-service multiplayer game like Highguard<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cToday\u2019s final announcement at #SummerGamefest will be a single-player, narrative game,\u201d posted Keighley. \u201cThank you for the feedback!\u201d<\/p>\n It is for sure a direct reference to the very negative reaction Highguard<\/em> received from people online in the hours after its initial reveal at the Game Awards 2025.
