Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have released the latest title update for Ninja Gaiden 4, and this brings The Two Masters DLC, which is the first expansion for the action game.
Console gamers will see this mandatory download as Ninja Gaiden 4 update 1.004 (complete version 1.004.000), even if they’re not interested in the expansion.
For details on the new premium DLC, as well as a look at it in action, read on.
Ninja Gaiden 4 Receives New DLC via Update 1.004
So far, the developers have not shared what gameplay changes were made with today’s DLC drop. While the premium DLC is available for purchase optionally, the title update is a mandatory download, which is par for the course when it comes to these things.
The premium Two Masters DLC include:
- 3 new campaign chapters
- 2 new weapons (Solitaire Scythe & Jakotsumon Gauntlets)
- New enemies
- New trials
- Abyssal Road challenge mode.
More details on the DLC and how to access it:
This new expansion adds brand-new story chapters to the NINJA GAIDEN 4 saga, along with fresh challenges for the most skilled warriors among you; including Abyssal Road, a brutal new survival mode designed to push your mastery to the limit.
To mark the launch of The Two Masters, all leaderboards will be reset on March 4, giving everyone a fair shot to climb the rankings while taking full advantage of the DLC’s new content and mechanics.
Note: Access to the The Two Masters story content and Abyssal Road requires players to have completed the base game’s main story, and the difficulty is designed with that in mind. However, all DLC owners will immediately gain access to Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa’s new weapons, even if you’re still on your journey to defeat the Dark Dragon.
If Team Ninja releases anything about today’s update outside of the DLC info, we’ll update the article. If you’re looking for more action games to scratch that itch, Scott Pilgrim EX might do the trick, and our review explains why.
