Neverness To Everness
A Free-To-Play Example
Neverness to Everness is a great example to kick things off with, as it will be here by the end of April. Also, it will be free-to-play, giving every PS5 owner something to check out while waiting for the rest of these games. Players can choose a male or female avatar at the start, who will be a new hire for the city’s paranormal investigation division. Players will go on missions to dive into other dimensions or to participate in physics-bending anomalies.
For example, one early mission will send players into a forest that is also part of a painting, and another will shrink players down to mouse size. Combat flows directly into the multiple characters when players switch between them, and these characters can be unlocked through the story or with in-game currency. There are other gacha-based things about Neverness to Everness, but based on previews, it also seems pretty open for players to go about it at their own pace. No matter what, it will be an interesting game that PS5 players can check out soon.
Gothic 1 Remake
A Classic Reborn
PC and console players got to share in the epic quest of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim together, but there is one fantasy action RPG that has mostly been exclusive to PC systems since launch. Back in 2001, the original Gothic was a beloved game, faults and all, giving players a riveting series of quests and satisfying gameplay across a big open-world landscape. There was a remastered version released for the Switch in 2023, but in June, PS5 players can finally play it via the Gothic 1 Remake. Everything looks better in the remake, from character models to the environments, both of which have more detailed textures.

The Best PS5 Exclusives for Different Types of Players
If you’re looking for the next game to explore on your PlayStation 5, this list with a variety of great exclusives has you covered.
It’s a big, open world to explore, including diving underwater to look for treasure. It has everything a fantasy RPG needs: swords, magic, bows, dialogue choices that will impact the story in major ways, and so much more. Thanks to the update, Gothic 1 Remake could shove Crimson Desert aside, not in terms of land mass, but in terms of giving PS5 fans a high-quality action RPG with impeccable writing to play in 2026. Hopefully, old fans will appreciate it as much as the new fans will.
The Adventures Of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
HD-2D Zelda
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is the next big HD-2D innovation from Square Enix, coasting on the back of Octopath Traveler. Players will control a time-traveling hero, Elliot, and explore different versions of the same world, albeit with different perspectives. Accompanying Elliot is Galizio, his fairy companion, who can help out with puzzles and give players a speed boost while exploring. The game is presented like an old-school Zelda adventure, complete with an overworld, real-time action, and dungeons.
Players will get more than a sword in the game, like a bow and a sickle, and weapons can be upgraded over time. While the game is coming to the PS5, if players also have a Switch 2, then they can check out a demo. Either way, the game will be out in June. It may not be as flashy as some of these other titles, but great things come in small packages all the time, so don’t discount The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales just yet.
Echoes Of Aincrad
Sword Art Online Zero
Echoes of Aincrad is a game adaptation based on the Sword Art Online light novels and anime. It’s set before the main storyline, wherein players can create their character as part of the beta testing for this fake MMO. This then leads to where Sword Art Online begins its main story as a dark entity proclaims the users are now trapped in the MMO, and if they die in the game, they die for real. It’s a heavy storyline, but fans loved it for its action and drama, so hopefully the translation will work well in this game adaptation.

Best PS5 Games That Let You Do Anything
These PS5 games are about more than just combat and explosions, offering so much variety that it feels like you can do basically anything.
As for Echoes of Aincrad itself, players have deep customization options for their character beyond looks. They can raise stats, and once thresholds are reached, bonus skills will be learned, and there is even a way to reset everything. There are various weapons to build and upgrade, and players can take a party member with them in dungeons and field exploration. The exploration areas look similar in size next to Nioh 3, so while not a full open-world game, Echoes of Aincrad looks like it will still be massive when it comes out in July.
Beast Of Reincarnation
Ghost Of Okami
Beast of Reincarnation is the biggest project that Game Freak has seemingly ever embarked on outside of the Pokemon franchise. In many ways, it feels like a post-apocalyptic spiritual successor to Okami, and not just because there is a white wolf involved. As a spiritual warrior, Emma will travel across the land with her wolf companion, Koo, fighting enemies who are causing the environment to decay. Defeating enemies will, in turn, return nature to prominence one sword slash at a time.
The game appears to be fairly open, and its coolest feature, besides the Emma and Koo combos, is Emma’s ability to grow plants like she is Poison Ivy from the Batman series. Players can grow vines to make bridges or create vine stems to get high off the ground. Game Freak has tried many times to make something greater than Pokemon and this action-adventure RPG is seemingly coming the closest, at least in terms of production value. Fans of Game Freak’s games can look forward to Beast of Reincarnation dropping in August.
