What Kind of Game Is Calico?

Calico is a cozy management sim that tasks players with running a fantasy cat café in a magical town. It originally released in December 2020 to underwhelming reviews, as reflected in its “Weak” rating on OpenCritic, based on 25 reviews with an average score of 55 and a 48% recommendation rate. Critics praised its pastel visuals and relaxed atmosphere, while criticizing its simplistic gameplay loop and technical issues. Calico appears to have resonated much better with players, as reflected in its “Very Positive” Steam user reviews, based on more than 2,600 ratings as of late May 2026. Likewise, the cozy cat café game currently has a 4.4-star rating on the Epic Games Store.

What Kind of Game is LoneStar?

LoneStar is a tactical roguelite deckbuilder built around spaceship battles. Developed by Chinese studio Math Tide, it casts players as interstellar bounty hunters tracking dangerous criminals across the galaxy. Each bounty is resolved through turn-based combat, with players assigning energy to ship modules to balance offense and defense while optimizing loadouts around pilots and spaceship parts. Successful bounty missions lead to reward choices and vacation events, giving players more resources, units, and talents to refine their ship before taking on tougher targets. LoneStar originally launched in early access in January 2024 before receiving its 1.0 update in April 2025. It currently lacks an Epic Games Store user rating but has “Very Positive” player reviews on Steam.
