    • KONAMI is reportedly negotiating with Ronaldo Nazário and Thierry Henry for eFootball.
    • Talks are still in early stages and nothing has been finalized yet.
    • Thierry Henry rumors around eFootball have been surfacing since 2025.

KONAMI could be preparing something massive for the upcoming World Cup season in eFootball 2026. New reports claim the company is intensifying negotiations with football legends Ronaldo Nazário and Thierry Henry for a future in-game appearance.

As shared by ZahafcPes, who has been previously accurate with reports, KONAMI is currently in early-stage discussions with representatives of both legends. However, the situation is still far from confirmed, and sources themselves suggest the chances remain uncertain for now.

KONAMI reportedly wants a major legend signing before the World Cup events

The report also mentions that eFootball is eager to get ahead of the EA Sports‘ FC franchise during the World Cup event period, with the company reportedly trying to secure at least one major football icon before the competition hype begins globally.

At this point, nothing has been finalized, and licensing talks involving legendary footballers are usually complicated. So while the excitement is understandable, we probably should not expect an immediate reveal anytime soon.

Back in December 2025, reports already claimed KONAMI had opened talks with Henry regarding a possible addition to eFootball 2026. At the time, leaks suggested he could eventually arrive as a Legend Epic card, potentially even receiving a premium Big Time version similar to Zlatan Ibrahimović’s treatment in the game.

Even earlier, in July 2025, advertisements spotted in the Chinese version of eFootball hinted at several incoming legends, including Thierry Henry and John Terry. Just a month ago, in June 2025, major database leaks reportedly revealed over 50 upcoming legends, featuring names such as Pelé, Ronaldo Nazário, Laudrup, and even Zidane, and the majority of them eventually made their arrivals.

So while these latest rumors are still unofficial, the repeated appearance of Henry and Ronaldo’s names over the past year definitely makes things interesting.
