Modder ‘claybtv’ has just released a mod that allows you to play Resident Evil 4 Remake with your friends in co-op mode. This is something that a lot of RE fans will find interesting. So, if you are one of them, you should definitely check it out.

Going into more detail, the mod syncs both games in real time, allowing one player to join the other’s session and progress through the campaign side by side.

It also keeps many gameplay elements synchronized between both players. This includes enemies, story events, doors, switches, alarms, and many other interactive objects. As a result, both players share the same experience and can play through the entire campaign together.

As claybtv stated, the mod is in a beta phase and suffers from some issues. For instance, the mod scans areas to sync gimmicks and objects, causing frame drops at times. This is a known issue being actively improved. Using other mods that spawn many enemies can worsen lag because of the combined load.

Furthermore, enemies may appear stuttery or choppy on the partner’s side due to syncing smoothness issues. This is another issue that the modder is looking to improve.

Finally, opening the pause menu or inventory pauses the game normally, which disrupts co-op play. A fix is planned and will be released soon. Meanwhile, players should be careful when opening menus during co-op sessions.

You can go ahead and download the mod from here. To install it, you’ll have to drag the mod into Fluffy Mod Manager and enable it. Then, you can launch the game and open the menu. Create an account and find a person to play with. Finally, make sure you are both in the exact same spot.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is not the only game that has gotten a co-op mod. You can find similar mods for Yakuza 0, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Lies of P, and STALKER: Call of Pripyat. Moreover, most of FromSoftware’s games have co-op mods. Thus, you can download ones for Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring, and Armored Core 6.

And that’s not all. The unofficial PC port of Super Mario 64 also has a co-op mode. In May 2026, we shared a co-op mod for Bloodborne, which PC gamers can enjoy via the PlayStation 4 emulator, shadPS4. Plus, there is a 16-player co-op mod for Subnautica 2.

    Have fun!

That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”
