ATHENS, WV (WVNS) — Members of the community were invited to a trophy unveiling and ring ceremony by the Concord University Esports team to recognize five 2025 national championships.
According to a press release, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, a trophy unveiling and ring ceremony will take place in the main theatre of the Alexander Fine Arts Center at Concord University, and campus family, community members, and more were invited to attend.

The press release stated that comments from Austin Clay, the Esports Director, will be part of the event, as well as the ring presentation to the Concord University (CU) Fortnite and Rocket League team members.
According to the press release, the CU Fortnite team won the Eastern College Athletic Conference Builds Spring 2025 National Championship, and the Rocket League team received the Collegiate Esports Commissioners Spring 2025 Cup, East Coast Conference Spring 2025 National Championship, National Esports Collegiate Conference Division 1 Spring 2025 National Championship, and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Titans Spring 2025 National Championship.
The press release stated that Concord University’s Esports program was created in 2019, and since its creation, the Esports program has achieved a total of 24 championships. Concord University was also acknowledged for various achievements that include: being a 2024 CECC Program of the Year finalist, as well as being finalists for the 2024 CECC Program Impact Award, and the recipient of the 2024 ECAC Commissioners Cup.
