The LG 27GS60QC-B UltraGear curved gaming monitor is currently on sale for $219.97, down from its regular $249.99 price point. While this 12% discount isn’t the absolute lowest we’ve seen, it represents one of the strongest prices for a 1440p monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate from a top-tier brand like LG. For gamers looking to move past standard 1080p without breaking the $250 barrier, this is a good opportunity.

This UltraGear model is built for speed and immersion, featuring a steep 1000R curve that mimics the natural field of view. With a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, it offers significantly more detail and screen real estate than Full HD monitors, while the 180Hz refresh rate ensures that fast-moving action remains smooth during intense gaming sessions.

Why we like this LG UltraGear deal

At just under $220, this monitor hits the “sweet spot” for modern PC gaming. It balances high resolution with a high refresh rate, which makes it a versatile choice for everything from cinematic RPGs to competitive shooters.

    Immersive 1000R curvature

Unlike many “subtle” curved monitors, the 27GS60QC-B features a 1000R curve. This is a much tighter arc designed to bring the corners of the 27-inch screen into your peripheral vision. This creates a more wrap-around feel that pulls you into the game world, which is especially effective in racing sims and first-person adventures where atmospheric immersion is key.

    Competitive 180Hz performance

While 144Hz used to be the gold standard, 180Hz is the new benchmark for smooth gameplay. This extra headroom allows for even less motion blur and lower input latency. Paired with a 1ms (GtG) response time and AMD FreeSync support, this monitor virtually eliminates screen tearing and stuttering, provided your GPU can keep up with the frames.

    Versatile gaming features

LG has packed this monitor with its signature gaming software, including the Black Stabilizer to reveal enemies hiding in dark shadows and a built-in FPS Counter so you can monitor your system’s performance in real-time. The borderless design also makes it an excellent candidate for a multi-monitor setup if you decide to add a second screen down the line.

What to consider before you buy

It is worth noting that this monitor uses a VA panel. While VA panels offer much better contrast and deeper blacks than IPS panels—perfect for gaming in dark rooms, they can sometimes suffer from minor “smearing” in very fast dark transitions. Additionally, the included stand is limited to tilt adjustments; it does not offer height or swivel support. If you require more ergonomic flexibility, you might want to look at our list of best gaming monitors under $300 for more top options or consider mounting it to a VESA-compatible arm. However, for a high-speed 1440p experience under $220, this LG UltraGear is a fantastic value.
