Deathbringer’s Reign, a team of dedicated modders, has released the demo for its Baldur’s Gate 1 Mod for Baldur’s Gate 3. This demo lets you experience the Prologue and the entirety of Candlekeep in the Baldur’s Gate 3 engine.
Going into more details, the demo offers around an hour and a half of gameplay content. The first area includes locations, NPCs, quests, dialogue, and more. However, it does not have any voices.
The next major goal of the team is to release a second demo, which expands the world to include the areas of High Hedge, Beregost, the Friendly Arm Inn, and Shipwreck’s Coast, as well as the classic companions found in those regions.

Speaking of Baldur’s Gate 3, you may want to try this cool mod for it. This is a real-time combat mod. As its title suggests, it turns this turn-based RPG into an action RPG. In its current state, the Brawl – Real Time Combat Mod is only meant to be used with standalone game modes, like Trials of Tav. However, its creator is working on adding it to the SP campaign.
Another cool mod is this one, which adds a Warcraft-inspired custom campaign to the game. Forsaken is basically a recreation of the Undead starting zone “Tirisfal Glades” from World of Warcraft (Classic/Vanilla).
In October 2024, we also shared a video that showcased the game via a first-person perspective. This is another cool concept, though it takes a lot of mods to make it work. Still, if you ever wanted to play BG3 in first-person, you can do so.
In January 2025, we shared a mod that injected a dynamic behavior system into your party members. Thanks to that mod, your companions will automatically light nearby torches, candles, and lamps. If they stand near a chair, bench, or bed, they might sit down or take a short nap, which gives them a small amount of health back. They can also admire paintings, look closely at statues, check themselves in mirrors, or poke around strange devices like globes, telescopes, or old machines.
Then we have this mod that restores deleted scenes, encounters, and NPCs from the Early Access version. The mod brings over 100 conversations and more than 1000 lines of voiced dialogue back from the dead. It also injects content into the game that still fits into the full release story. As such, you’ll get more NPC encounters and camp events. You’ll also get more companion reactivity.
Finally, you can download this HD Texture Pack. Created by lexo1000, this pack overhauls the textures of all environments. The modder has upscaled all non-virtual textures (aka terrain, vegetation, architecture, clutter, monster skins for a total of 1313 files) using Topaz Labs. This means that the modded textures will retain the art style of the vanilla textures. So, make sure to get it if you own a high-end GPU.
