French developer Doot, publishing as Doot Tiny Games, has released its cosy sim on Xbox and Switch. It’s Kabuto Park, a bug-catching and battling cosy title. The studio’s previous releases include Minami Lane, another cosy title inspired by Japanese street management sims.

Kabuto Park is already available on PC

The game launched last year on Steam for PC. Now, it’s available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The game is about catching bugs, hanging out, and trying to become the Summer Beetle Battles champion. Specifically, look out for the rhinoceros beetles as they are a major catch.

You play as Hana, a little girl spending a month on summer vacation. Her goal is to catch bugs, level them up, build a team carefully, and then battle other kids with them. The title brings a childhood summer vibe, just like games such as Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation.

Things are pretty simple and relaxed. There’s a bug-catching mini game, small bug battles with light deck-building mechanics, and a basic upgrade and levelling system. There are bugs from all around the world in Kabuto Park. And you can pet them in your terrarium, too!

The whole mood of Kabuto Park is very cosy. Cute art, lovely music, childlike wonder, lush environments, and summer vibes everywhere. It’s just about a child exploring the outdoors in a beautiful landscape.

Kabuto Park is available for $5.99 across PC and consoles. And if you have an Xbox Game Pass, you can download it for free starting today. The game now has full gamepad support. The developers mention Steam Deck and ROG Ally support, and native input prompts for Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam Deck controllers. Other controllers will default to Xbox prompts.

      Shin Megami Tensei Review

      By Steven Strom

Shin Megami Tensei, the game that launched a thousand spin-offs, has finally made the jump to English. Most probably know the series for the Persona games, but the original launched on Super Famicom in 1992. This new version is a direct, barebones interpretation of that original game but features, for the first time ever, an official translation by Atlus. This is a perfectly preserved, untouched classic; one that the average Westerner can now experience for the first time. For better or worse, buyers will experience Shin Megami Tensei exactly as it was over 20 years ago.The story goes that just as demons invade Japan, our hero receives a “demon summoning program” that allows him to communicate and ally with said creatures. This allows our nameless teen hero and his friends to battle the invaders as they determine the future of the world. Will you side with law, chaos, or forsake both and create a world by humanity, for humanity. It’s the ongoing struggle that features in many Shin Megami Tensei games, but here it also affects who you’ll be fighting with and against.

Amrita has been playing video games since she was a toddler, so writing about games comes naturally to her. Outside of Gamezebo, she has experience in webcomics and social media copywriting.
