As predicted State of Play June 2026 did not reveal anything on GTA 6, but some of the expected games like God of War Faye Project were unveiled in the broadcast. State of Play June 2026 brought a huge surprise for the fans by announcing a massive lineup of upcoming games, exciting trailers, and new release dates. This live broadcast streamed for straight one hour and 18 minutes, and this makes it the longest State of Play broadcast ever. Marvel’s Wolverine extended gameplay reveal was the main focus of the broadcast and seven minutes of live streaming on Marvel’s Wolverine delivered an in-depth insight on the much-awaited game being developed by Insomniac Games.
The latest PlayStation showcase delivered a blockbuster lineup, kicking off with an in-depth look at Marvel’s Wolverine and wrapping up with the dramatic reveal of God of War Laufey. Between these two headline-making titles, fans were treated to a barrage of release dates, fresh gameplay footage, and surprise announcements that kept the momentum high throughout the event.
Marvel’s Wolverine- Extended Gameplay Reveal
As expected, The State of Play June 2026 broadcast started with Marvel’s Wolverine, where Insomniac Games shared a brutal, violent, and action-packed look at its upcoming single-player adventure. A closer look at the game introduced the players to Logan’s ferocious combat techniques as well as with some new characters, the players will get to encounter as part of mutant task force Team X. That includes powerful telekinetic Jean Grey, who Logan teams up with for some devastating takedowns of the cybernetic, mutant-hunting Reavers.
PlayStation Plus Announcements
Several new PlayStation Plus announcements were made during the State of Play 2026. Runescape: Dragonwilds is coming to PS5 in the future as a day one Game Catalog title. The game is a fantasy that can be either enjoyed alone or with your friends. Other games coming to PlayStation Plus in the coming months include Gitaroo Man, a Colorful action-rhythm tunes, and this would be joining PS Plus catalog later this month. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy comes in July, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams drops in August.
Surprise New Games Announcements
Surprise new game announcements were also made in the State of Play 2026 and most of these announcements were either spin-offs or sequels along with some original titles included.
Until Dawn 2
Until Dawn to is a PS5 sequel to the classic horror, developed by Firesprite Games. This time a crew of ghost hunters head to an abandoned tropical island for their TV network-funded debut episode. The game launches in 2027 with a brand-new cast and a whole new world to explore.
Bancho the Chef
The award-winning indie sensation Dave the Diver is diving deeper into its lore with a delightful prequel spin-off. This new installment explores the backstory of one of the game’s most beloved characters, offering fans a fresh narrative twist while retaining the charm that made the original a breakout hit.
Kemuri
Unseen is a Tokyo-based game studio led by Ikumi Nakamura, and they unveiled their new project in the State of Play 2026, stylish supernatural adventure Kemuri, which is coming to PS5 in 2027. Set in the chaotic expanse of Kemuri City—where life and death intertwine—players will confront paranormal forces while navigating a sprawling vertical metropolis.
Stuntman: Hollywood
An action and high energy racing game, where the focus is on players performing dangerous stunts for big-budget movies.
The Lost Wild
A survival horror game inspired by dinosaurs, where the players need to hunt, build and stay alive in a vast untamed ecosystem.
ILL
Another horror game with a grim story and a gameplay involving unpredictable monsters. The game is set to release in 2027.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
An upgraded version of the PS2-era hack-and-slash title with new and improved graphics, and all the original content.
Marathon
Bungie revealed a new Season called Nightfall for the sci-fi extraction shooter. Season 2 of the game comes with new maps, new gameplay and is expected to release later in 2026.
Upcoming PS5 Games- Release Dates
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches August 6, 2026. It is a tag-team fighting game where three new characters join the roster: powerful mutant Magneto, archenemy of Spider-Man Green Goblin, and the brutally aggressive and utterly merciless Carnage.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Silent Hill: Townfall launches September 24, 2026. The game is a new entry in the popular horror franchise and features a dark single-player gameplay.
Control: Resonant
Remedy’s new sequel is focused on Jesse Faden’s brother Dylan as the new playable character, and is dropping on September 24, 2026.
Rayman Legends Untold
A remake of the beloved platformer, with updated visuals, refined controls, and all original levels, releases on October 1. 2026.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
High-speed, aerial combat featuring new planes and a bigger map, releases on October 2, 2026 in most regions, and October 8, 2026 in select regions.
Phantom Blade Zero
A fast-paced action RPG with a dark fantasy setting is all set to launch on October 29, 2026. The game will get a dedicated State of Play later this summer, which will fully delve into the features, mechanics and story.
No Rest for the Wicked
An action-RPG built for solo players and co-op squads alike, and is set in a hand-crafted world with Souls-like combat. The game will launch on PS5 in October 2026 featuring 100+ hours of content, new powerful weapons, new bosses and enemies, new areas to explore, and a completely reimagined class system.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
A remake of the original 1996, Tomb Raider game is now set to release on February 12, 2027.
God of War: Laufey – Standalone Spin‑Off
One of the most expected reveals in the event was a first look at God of War: Laufey, a standalone title from Santa Monica Studio. The game follows Faye, also known as Laufey, in events set before the 2018 God of War reboot. Gameplay reveal showcased agile, acrobatic combat focused on magic, ranged abilities, and exploration, a stark contrast to Kratos’ heavy, brute-force style. No official release date window has yet been announced for the game.
