I love games that have extraordinary or stunning visuals. One of such games is the upcoming Colorbound. A puzzle platformer, it’s launching in August 2026 on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Humble, plus Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Colorbound comes from developer Panpipe Studio and publisher Whitethorn Games. It’s a vibrant palette-platformer where colour is the core mechanic in the entire adventure. The team is dropping a demo during the Steam Next Fest, which runs from June 15th to June 22nd, 2026.
Panpipe Studio is an indie development studio from Chile. It puts a lot of emphasis on the story and cultural influences. The game draws inspiration from the Aymara culture of the Andes and brings traditional music and artistic styles. Inspired by the team’s Chilean culture and heritage, it celebrates the rich culture of South America.
You play as Anku, a young Aymara boy who has a special ability to reshape the world through colour. His journey starts with reuniting his late grandfather’s band for one final tribute performance. Anku’s grandfather was a beloved musician among his people, but after his passing, the members of his band drifted apart.
Armed with only memories and his unusual gift, Anku sets out across the world to track down the missing musicians. He aims to rekindle their love for music and give his grandfather the farewell he deserves.
Colorbound takes you through a variety of locations
You’ll roam across lush forests and forgotten cities. The game has logic challenges mixed with light platforming. You need to use multiple colour-based powers that can alter the environment. Hidden paths can appear, obstacles can become opportunities, and impossible routes can suddenly open up depending on how you use your palette.
