Admiral Kirk and Spock are Earth-bound once more, as Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home is set to return to theaters for its 40th anniversary.
Artist Matt Ferguson created a poster to commemorate the announcement, as shared by Empire. The reveal promises to bring stars William Shatner (Kirk) and Leonard Nimoy (Spock) back to the big screen starting September 4, 2026, with tickets for the classic ’80s film on sale now.
It appears the Star Trek 4 re-release will be limited to UK cinemas upon its premiere later this year. For now, there is no confirmation of its return to theaters elsewhere.

Star Trek 4 was directed by Nimoy and premiered in 1986. Alongside its 40th birthday arrives the overall franchise’s 60th anniversary, with various festivities keeping Trekkies celebrating all year long. It all comes to a head on Star Trek Day, September 8.
“Using a Klingon ship, the crew of the Enterprise returns to 1980s Earth to retrieve two whales that may save the planet from destruction in their own era,” an official description for Star Trek 4 says.
Ferguson did his part to celebrate the franchise with Star Trek 4 but was also responsible for handling posters for the Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock anniversary releases, too. He looked back on his work as Star Trek celebrates 60.
