Following the end to Destiny 2’s development and subsequent layoffs at developers Bungie, fans of the series have decided to get a bit of revenge of the studio’s ex-boss Pete Parsons in one of the few ways they can. By making a browser game in which the player is tasked with lobbing enough tomatoes to defeat both Parsons and his collection of cars.

Parsons, in case you need filling in on some Destiny lore here, left Bungie last year. The exec had previously faced a lot of ire for allegedly blowing vast sums of money on classic cars around the same time the studio he oversaw were jetissoning staff in the name of getting their finances back on track.

Cue Pete Carsons: The Final Car, or Pete Carsons’ Vault of Cars (spotted by Kotaku) if you prefer, a fan-made browser game released on July 7th. Confronted by Parsons in flying raid boss form, you’ve got lob tomatoes at cars with names like ‘layoff candidate’ and ‘team reduction’ as part of a multi-stage battle to best the exec himself.

The Vault of Cars opens today, free to play for everyone at 10AM PDT via a dedicated website.

💠 Before we go live and you face Pete Carsons and save The Last City, we wanted to share a peak at the title screen.

I’ve given it a go, and can confirm I’m as hopelessly crap at it as I am at Destiny itself, which feels fitting. Thankfully, other people have managed to last past the first couple of classic car waves.

Overall, it’s a bit of satirical fun and a way to take out a bit of frustration at how Sony and Bungie’s execs have landed the storied studio in such dire straits. Given how bad things are across the industry in 2026, this sort of lark feels like it’s one of the few weapons us regular joes have left in our arsenal. So, let fly with the veg.
