Since releasing last year the Nintendo Switch 2 has shot to the top of popular gaming platforms offering players a more powerful version of the beloved original Switch. Whether you’re a handheld or TV gamer, here are the biggest and best games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Lies of P – August 6
The Pinocchio-themed soulslike first launched on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC in 2023, but Nintendo fans will be able to enter the world of Krat from this year. If you’re into challenging combat, then Lies of P is one of the best soulslikes not developed by FromSoftware, with fantastic design and a strong narrative.
Elden Ring – August 28
Speaking of FromSoftware, the other major release in August 2026 is 2022’s Game of the Year, Elden Ring. Also previously released on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, Nintendo players will be able to explore the vast open-world soulslike, with worldbuilding by legendary fantasy author George R. R. Martin in 2026.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – September 4
The first all-new Onimusha game to be released in 20 years, hype for Onimusha: Way of the Sword has been building since the Onimusha 2’s remaster launched last year. The Capcom-developed third-person action adventure game will also be available for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on the same date.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – September 17
The eighteenth mainline installment in the long-running series of turn-based RPGs, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will be released in September 2026. Fortune’s Weave will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive as with every game in the Fire Emblem series.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight – September 18
Released in May 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC to great success, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will come to Nintendo Switch 2 in September. The family-friendly third-person action platformer is considered one of the best in the Lego series of games.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 – September 29
Block building behemoth Minecraft’s popular spin-off dungeon crawling series is receiving its second entry in September. Minecraft Dungeons 2 is releasing simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, so get your diamond swords at the ready for multiplayer dungeon diving action.

Rayman Legends Retold – October 1
A ground up remake of the best game in the long-running platforming series, Rayman Legends Retold will be released for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC in October 2026 alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version. It includes many changes from the original, such as new dragon flight levels, and Rayman Origins Remastered is part of the game at no extra cost.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – October 9
One of the best games of 2024, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen not only includes the award-winning base game, but a number of never-before-seen additions. The updated version will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, alongside the game’s first Nintendo Switch 2 launch. If you have the base game on other platforms you’ll be able to buy the update separately.
Ratatan – October 15
From the developers of tower defense rhythm strategy series Patapon, Ratatan aims to be a spiritual successor to the classic PlayStation games. The roguelike twist on the rhythm genre originally released in early access for PC last year, but the full game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC as well as Nintendo Switch 2 in October.
Tenebris Somnia – October 16
An interesting mix of pixel art game and short film, Tenebris Somnia will come to Nintendo Switch 2 in October alongside Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC releases. Cinematic live-action cutscenes blend with 2D old-school survival horror gameplay for a fresh feeling experience.
Final Fantasy Resonance – October 22
If you’re a sucker for old-school JRPGs and love the HD 2D art style, then Final Fantasy Resonance is for you. Mixing the classic gameplay with a modern look and new story, it’s scheduled to launch simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version in October.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – October 23
Nintendo players will finally be able to get the same Call of Duty experience as everyone else when Modern Warfare 4 launches simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Focusing on the Korean War, it marks another entry in the long-running first-person shooter series.
Steins;Gate Re:Boot – August 20
Steins;Gate was first released in 2009,and the sci-fi visual novel is still considered one of the best in the genre. Re:Boot not only features completely updated graphics, but a whole new scenario for long-time fans. Steins;Gate Re:Boot will launch simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – November 12
Most games are steering clear of November thanks to the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, but as one of the best games of 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio isn’t scared of the big bad. The high fantasy turn-based RPG from the team behind the modern Persona series will be available for Nintendo players for the first time in November.

007 First Light – Late 2026
Released in May 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the James Bond action adventure game is set to be released before the end of the year. Whether you want to sneak and charm your way through or just start blasting, 007 First Light has you covered.
Professor Layton and The New World of Steam – Late 2026
Fans thought Professor Layton had hung up his top hat in 2013, but he’s returning to solve puzzles and crimes in late 2026. Usually a Nintendo-exclusive series, The New World of Steam marks the first time a Professor Layton game will be released on PC and PlayStation as well.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse – Late 2026
Returning to the series’ heyday, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse hopes to take the metroidvania series back to the genre-defining excellence of Symphony of the Night. It’s launching on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC on October 15, but is expected to come to Nintendo Switch 2 later in the year.
The Duskbloods – 2026
Another Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive title can be found in The Duskbloods, a new multiplayer game from soulslike legends FromSoftware. Supporting up to eight players, there will be both PvP and cooperative PvE gameplay modes in this Victorian vampire game scheduled to launch before the end of the year.
Stellar Blade – 2026
Originally a PlayStation exclusive that launched in 2024, combat-focused sci-fi action adventure game Stellar Blade will receive a Nintendo Switch 2 port in 2026. There is no concrete release date for this game yet, but it should launch over the next few months.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Sea of Sorrow – 2026
After almost a decade of waiting, roguelike metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong launched to great success last year. We apparently won’t have to wait nearly as long for the first DLC as Sea of Sorrow is expected to be released in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC as well as Nintendo Switch 2, but given Team Cherry’s track record with Silksong, we’re not holding our breath.
