Ubisoft has just released Patch 1.0.5 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced to address some stuttering issues. This patch is pretty small, around 183MB in size. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
As Ubisoft stated, this is a PC-only update. This patch will alleviate stuttering issues experienced by some PC players. It does not bring any other tweaks, fixes or changes.
For what is worth, I’ve played over 14 hours and I have not experienced any stutters on my PC. So, I don’t know what could be the cause of these stutters that can only occur to specific PC systems.
My main PC gaming system features an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090. I also use Windows 10 64-bit and the latest GeForce drivers.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is one of the most optimized Assassin’s Creed titles we have gotten these past few years. At launch, the game ran incredibly well on a variety of PC systems. At the same time, though, its visuals and its Ray Tracing implementation did not impress me as much as they did in AC: Shadows. Still, I’m certain that a lot of PC gamers will be happy with what we got.
However, I should note that the game still suffers from some animation and parkour issues. At numerous times, Kenway could not parkour the way I wanted. The parkour and overall movement feel a bit worse than what I experienced in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. There are numerous areas in which Kenway can get stuck in the air. Moreover, sometimes he cannot climb down simple objects. So, let’s hope that the devs will further enhance the movement system to fix these issues.
Like always, Steam will download this patch the next time you launch its client. Ubisoft did not share any release notes for it. As I said, this patch only aims to resolve the stutters that could occur on specific PC systems, and nothing more.
