Microsoft has officially brought Xbox backward compatibility to Windows PCs. This newly introduced feature was announced through the Xbox official blog on July 22, 2026, and will allow players to enjoy a list of selected games from older Xbox systems on PC. To access it, players don’t need to have an Xbox console, but the Xbox PC app.
The first four games supported will be BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies®: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy®. However, there are some hardware requirements to access this feature on their PCs. According to the announcement, PCs running Windows 11 with at least 8GB of RAM and 4GB of video memory will be eligible for this Xbox backward compatibility.
Similarly, on the graphics side, the minimum requirement is Nvidia GeForce GTX 950, AMD Radeon RX 550, or Intel Arc A310. Microsoft has mentioned that a four-core, eight-thread processor is most suitable, with Intel Core i3-10300, AMD Ryzen 3 3100, and AMD Ryzen Z2 A as the recommended options.
