Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer DoubleMoose will release brinepunk cooperative first-person shooter Abyssus for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series this summer alongside the game’s version 1.3 update, the companies announced. A physical “Brine Edition,” including the base game and four cosmetic downloadable contents, will also be available for PlayStation 5 via distributor Silver Lining Entertainment.
Abyssus first launched for PC via Steam on August 12, 2025.

Abyssus, the brinepunk roguelike coop first-person shooter, is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series this summer—and it’s launching with full cross-play across all platforms!
For the first time, console players will descend into the depths alongside PC players, with seamless cross-platform multiplayer support at launch. Whether you’re on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam, you’ll be able to squad up in one-to-four-player online cooperative play and take on the corrupted forces lurking within a long-forgotten underwater civilization.
Brinehunters who want the full Abyssus experience can pre-order a brand-new PlayStation 5 physical edition coming this summer. This physical edition includes all currently available cosmetic downloadable content in Abyssus.
The new version 1.3 update will be launching alongside the new PlayStation and Xbox versions of Abyssus and will be expanding your undersea adventure… and arsenal, with a host of new content at absolutely no cost:
- A new God will be joining the lineup, introducing a host of new blessings for your abilities and weapons.
- New blessings will be added for the previously existing Gods, too.
- A new playable area arrives, introducing new enemies and bosses alongside it.
- New room objectives will be added to make sure that no two runs are ever the same.
- A revamped and expanded skill tree & streamlined matchmaking and quickplay options.
- Crossplay will be available at launch across all platforms.
- New sea shanties, the best way to build team camaraderie.
Alongside this free update comes the “Brinerot Pack,” which will feature a new suit, helmet, emote, and portrait frame to customize your Brinehunter with for $3.99.
