Vampire Crawlers may opt for old-school dungeon crawling rather than isometric battling like its predecessor, but this spin-off maintains the first game’s massive selection of weapons and evolutions. Creating evolutions is done in largely the same way: combining items when interacting with a chest. This time, though, you’ll be given multiple choices when opening a chest, letting you decide which of your potential evolutions you want to create–or whether you’d like to create one at all.
Getting evolutions requires some trial and error without a guide since there are so many potential combinations. There’s also a bit of luck involved, as you can’t be guaranteed you’ll get the cards you need for evolutions. Sadly, we can’t make those cards magically appear for you, but we have compiled all of the Vampire Crawler weapon evolutions to make things a bit easier to plan for you.

Keep in mind that, if you’re hoping to find the right cards to create an evolution, it may be best to keep fighting on a floor in hopes of securing those cards before opening any treasure chests. You may get the cards you’re looking for by leveling up, after all. Once you’ve opened all of the treasure chests on a floor, you’ll likely be out of luck for evolving weapons until after defeating that floor’s boss. Of course, as you progress further into the game and begin investing in certain upgrades, you’ll have more and more opportunities to reroll cards and potentially get the ones you’re after.
Vampire Crawlers is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
