We need more Vietnam-themed FPS games on Xbox, don’t we? Honestly, there’s tons of WW2, modern and futuristic shooters on the platform, but Vietnam as an era often gets overlooked in comparison. Thankfully, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is going to change that very soon – and the team has just announced an Xbox release date!

Yep, the Hell Let Loose series is jumping forward in time to the Vietnam War on June 18th, 2026, and the upcoming sequel is bringing a whole host of era-appropriate environments, weapons and gadgets to Xbox players next month. Here’s what Team17 has to say about the upcoming release:

“Hell Let Loose: Vietnam features intense jungle warfare set during one of history’s fiercest battlegrounds in real-world locations recreated with unrivalled authenticity.

    At launch, players can expect:
    – 6 distinct large-scale maps with dramatic terrain and weather variants
    – Immersive 50 vs 50 battles where strategy, squad cooperation and teamwork take precedence over individual heroics
    – Destructive historically accurate weapons, vehicles and tactical options including; new US aerial units and resourceful NVA forces
    – Dynamic gameplay experience where both sides can hunt the enemy through Vietnam’s complex river network with heavily armed patrol boats.”

In addition to this very close-by launch date, the team has also revealed that a free beta is coming later this month – although unfortunately that’s just for Steam PC players at the moment. Nevertheless, we’ll share the open beta sign-up link if you’d like to give Hell Let Loose: Vietnam a whirl on PC before the full launch next month.

If you’re sticking to Xbox consoles for your new Vietnam shooter, you just have the above release date trailer to tie you over for now – and these lovely 4K screenshots of course, straight from the team:
